in the spotlight.
The illuminfo concept is built on the premise that we all should be able to showcase our achievements in a more modern and meaningful way. Flaunt our efforts in art, then display them on our desks, display shelves or wall. Draw others in and invite them to help you relive your epic ride, blow by blow as you describe your
moments of glory.
These important epic rides generate precious stats that we all pour over on our various devices. But wouldn’t it be great to do something more with our data? This is where illuminfo can really help by providing a lasting memory in a unique, illuminated 3D sculpture that you’ll be proud to have on permanent display.
Simply capture your activity on a Smart phone or other device (eg: Garmin). Then at any point after you've completed your epic ride, upload your activity either via Strava or directly using our illuminfo web application.
Follow the screen prompts and select your product preference to review the on-screen renders. Once you are happy, continue with your order and check out.
All that remains is to await delivery of your wonderful, fully customised 3D sculpture in our bespoke secure packaging.
With our simple to use web application you can easily upload /select your activity, choose your product preference, adjust the start and finish points and then review the on-screen renders for each of your sprockets.
Our unique packaging has been specifically designed to keep your sculpture and its components safe whilst in transit.
Shipped flat with simple assembly instructions, your package will contain each individually etched and laser cut sprocket which forms the main cassette body. The central spindle houses the RGB LED lighting base plus end cap and comes with its own remote control.
All this, carefully hand packaged, fully checked and approved before leaving our warehouse.
Each sprocket displays elements taken from your activity data.
Once assembled onto the central spindle, a third dimension is revealed, providing a sudo holographic depth forming your unique sculpture.
Similar to a clock face your activity is divided into twelve equal segments -
each one highlighting your effort with elevation, speed and pace changes.

Powered by 2 x 3v supplied watch batteries, the central spindle also houses a small micro-controller. This is linked to 3 RGB LED’s and an infrared sensor to control the lighting via a remote control*. This is particularly useful if wall mounted and allows easy switching between colours to reveal and highlight new aspects of the sculpture.
The sculptures can be either displayed using a wall mounting bracket or
with the free-standing desktop stand.
* this is the case for the prototype configuration:
it maybe replaced with a Smart phone Bluetooth controller in the production version.
It is our intention to launch with cycling closely followed by running.
We have many other disciplines in our sights including
hiking, skiing, boarding, kite-surfing and numerous motorsport activities,
which will include elements of telemetry and geodata mapping.

illuminfo is a cumulation of a couple of my passions, a sprinkle of opportunity and a hearty slice of circumstances. The result is hopefully an object of desire that helps you display your data with pride.
Having worked in the design and digital sectors for all of my career, it has always been a dream to create and launch my own product. However it took a twist of fate to accelerate the process. Not on one of those ‘epic rides’ but on a regular Saturday morning club ride I found myself ending up in A&E with cracked ribs and yes the dreaded broken clavicle! This meant long periods of zero bike time and more time focusing on completing the prototypes.
They say every cloud has a silver lining and certainly that Saturday morning ride sent me off on a completely different journey and certainly one I couldn’t record on the Garmin or post to Strava!
